The Chopra Center offers a free 21 day meditation challenge. I've signed up for this and while I may not journal about it everyday I suspect it will be seeping over into this blog.
My biggest revelation during today's meditation was that it is really hard to tune into your breath when your ridiculously loud and obnoxious hound is in the back yard barking. I tried to believe that this would somehow make me have a deeper understanding of myself. Like if I could overcome the outside stimulus of that LOUD stupid dog, I could somehow overcoming anything...just me and my breath. In reality it just made me turn the meditation music up as I thought of all the mean things I wanted to do to my dog. Loud meditation music also makes it hard to tune into your breath. I'm pretty sure meditation is not supposed to make you want to be mean to your dog...and yet that was my experience today.
I'm hoping tomorrow's goes a little better.
In seriousness there were a few "in the moment" times and I found myself feeling relaxed and good when it was over.
